What are the main features of CD possession and supply? (4)
Unlawful for any person to be in possession of a CD unless regulations allow it or person has a Home Office licence.
Possession of schedule 4 part 2 or schedule 5 drugs = aren’t controlled.
Possession by px is allowed if CD has been Rxed by an appropriate prescriber.
HCP are listed separately in regulations together with drugs/schedules can supply.
Pharmacists may possess, manufacture, compound and supply any schedule 2-5.
A person authorised to supply can only supply a person authorised to possess.
Any person who is lawfully in possession of a CD may supply that drug to the person from whom he lawfully obtained it.
Any person who is lawfully in possession of a CD schedule 2-5 may supply that drug to any doctor, dentist or pharmacist for destruction.
