What are the main features of Whooping Cough? (6)
A
Caused by Bordatella Pertussis
14-20 day incubation
Cough develops becomes grouped into paroxysms of 20-30 coughs.
Paroxysm ends with an inspiratory whoop - stridulous inspiratory cry.
Accompanied by thick mucous, difficult to release.
Morbidity = death, conjunctival haemorrhage and facial petechiae.
