Why control drugs? (1)
Certain drugs are prone to misuse/abuse.
Define CDAO. (1)
Controlled Drug Accountable Officer:
- Suitable experienced person appointed by a designated body to ensure safe, appropriate and effective CD use and management.
- X Rx, supply, administer or dispose CDs as part of their regular duties.
State the main role of CDAO. (5)
Oversees CD monitoring, auditing, management and use.
Maintains concerns/incident records.
Shares CD information (including concerns and incidents).
Attendance at CD Local Intelligence Network (LIN) meetings.
Appointment of authorisation witnesses for CD destruction.
Community pharmacies should have a CD lead.

Acts as a source of advice for gov regarding drug dependence or drugs misuse.
What does MofD Act 1971 control? (1)
Dangerous or harmful drugs which are known as controlled drugs.
What does MofD regulations 2001 allow? (1)
Use of CDs as medicines.
