What are the symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis? (3)
A
Bilateral, itchy eyes
Oedema: cobblestone appearance on inner eyelid’s surface
Associated with eczema, allergic rhinitis or asthma.

What are the tx options for allergic conjunctivitis? (3)
A
Mast cell stabilisers: (Sodium cromoglycate = Opticrom allergy)
- 1-2 drops QDS
- Adults/Children (no age stated)
Sympathomimetics:
- Care with MAOIs (hypertensive crisis)
- Naphazoline 0.01% (Optrex bloodshot eye drops)
- Adults + children > 12 yrs.
-Xylometazolone + Antihistamines Antazoline (Otrivine Antistin) = Adults/children > 12 yrs.
- Reduced redness for short-term use
- 3-7days tx duration (rebound)
- Avoid in glaucoma.
