Explain the general relationship between Citalopram/Escitalopram and QT intervals. (4)

A

Both can cause QT interval prolongation and not used in those with:
- Congenital long QT syndrome
- Known pre-existing QT interval prolongation
- Combination with other drug that prolong QT interval.

ECG considered with px with cardiac disease and electrolyte disturbances are to be corrected prior to tx.
