Part of the conjunctiva covering the whites of the eyes appears bright red due to burst in small blood vessels.

If only symptom not caused by physical trauma = harmless and self-limiting after 7 days. If trauma is evident = refer!

What are the red flag symptoms of SH? (5)

Answer 2

Mod to severe eye pain.
Marked eye redness
Ciliary injection (engorgement, blue discolouration of eyes.)
Reduced visual acuity
Severe photophobia
