Photophobia is corneal involvement (rare)

A

Red and inflamed conjunctiva
VA, reflexes, cornea appearance usually unchanged
Lid appearance - Follicular = viral and Papillae = allergic
lymphadenopathy in viral infection

A

suspect in young
green stringy discharge in morning
inferior conjunctival follicles
preauricular lymph nodes

Management of conjunctivitis

A

viral/allergic usually self limiting - bact needs treatment
-chloramphenicol drops, fusidic acid drops, ciprofloxacin drops
