what happens to lead to Sx in corneal abrasion
epithelial denuding exposes stromal receptors –> pain watering photophobia
defects stain with..
risk of?

3 parts of mgmt of corneal abrasion
refer large abrasions
local before exam if required
chloramphenicol for 7days
3 other parts of mgmt of corneal abrasion
analgesia
avoid contact lenses
re-examine after 24h - refer if worsening Sx/not healed fully by 48h
