Epidermoid cyst - why occur? appearance? where?
entry of epidermis into the dermis
cystic swelling, central punctum
face, neck, trunk

‘cheesy’ keratin
may rupture causing inflam
may be excised
Pilar cyst - appearance? less prone to?
smooth cyst, no punctum, usually on scalp
less prone to rupture
keratoacanthoma - growth? may develop what? describe core?
rapidly growing
may have central necrosis and ulceration
solid filled with keratin
keratoacanthoma - occur where? mgmt?
sun exposed skin
should be excised to exclude SCC
seborrheic keratosis - appearance and texture? what is it?
brown/black/flesh-coloured, stuck on appearance, irregular surface and warty
benign overgrowth of basal cell layer
