breslow thickness - top of dermis to deepest invasive melanocyte

>1mm - 95%

possible DDx of melanoma
A
naevi - but usally <5mm - check for others to reassure yourself seborrhoeic keratoses - (warty+stuck on) pigmented BCC Dermatofibroma pyogenic granuloma

melanoma mgmt - initial? followed by?
A
2mm skin margin excision
then
wide excision based on Breslow thickness - in situ - 5mm, <1mm =1cm - icm per 1mm from here

melanoma mgmt - what next?
A
LN clearance if indicated
treat mets

mgmt follow up
A
3 monthly for 3 y if <1mm depth
then 2 y at 6 monthly intervals if >1mm
