- non-hodgkins lymphoma
- usually 50-70y
- firm
- rapidly enlarging masses
- occasional LN mets
adenoid cystic carcinoma - how common? arises from? growth rate? what is common + how presents?
most common malignant tumour
arises from reserve cells
slow insidious growth
neural invasion common - often presents with pain and palsies
adenoid cystic CA - %’s of where it is
28% sublingual
16% submandibular
13% minor glands
2% parotid
adenoid cystic CA - age range? prognosis? mgmt?
40-60y usually
15-y survival ~30%
mgmt - local resection + radiotherapy
where do salivary mets commonly come from
commonly skin - melanoma, SCC
also from lung, breast, GI, kidney
