Radiology Flashcards
What is Deauville score?
Score for reporting of PET/CT uptake in staging of NHL and HL (nodal uptake is compared to liver)
Cause of PET uptake in thyroid gland?
typically benign
SUV threshold that can routinely differentiate infection and inflammation from malignancy
There is none. This is because infectious, inflammatory processes may be hypermetbolic and certain malignancies are non-FDG avid (cystic or necrotic neoplasms)
Term for tumors that aren’t avid on PET-CT
non-FDG avid
Solid tumors that don’t have high uptake of FDG
1) mucinous neoplasms
2) renal cell cancers
3) low grade lung adeno
4) HCC
5) prostate cancer
6) neuroendocrine tumors
* some tumors have low-glucose metabolization
* most solid tumors demonstrate high uptake of FDG
CrCl required for MRI with gadolinium contrast
