Tissue Fluid and Lymph Fluid Flashcards
What 2 parts are blood conistsed off?
= cells: red blood cells, white blood cells, platlets, blood clos
SUSPENDED IN BLOOD PLASMA
What does blood plasma contain?
= dissolved molecules
= glucose
= amino acids
= mineral ions
= dissolved oxygen
= plasma proteins
What else happens in the capillaries?
= fluid passes out of the blood and bathres tissue cells
= tissue fluid
Where does tissue fluid leave the blood at?
= parts of the capillary near the artery
= transfers molecules: oxygen and glucose to tissue cells
= waste molecules from the tissue cells pass into the tissue fluid, returns back into the blood stream at the capillary near the vein
How is tissue fluid formed/moves in and out of the blood?
= tissue fluid is forced out of the blood at the arterial end of the capillary
= returns back to the blood in the veniual end
=
What happens at the arterial end of the capillary?
= blood at arterial end of the capillary is under relativlry high pressure still- hydrostatic pressure
= forces fluid out of the blood and into the tissue
= plasma proteins are hydrophilic (interacts with water), lower the water potential of blood plasma- tendency for water to move back into the blood by osmosis - oncotic pressure
How is high hydrostatic pressure formed?
