Q

What is natural selection itself?

A

= leads to evolution in populations

= results to species becoming better adapted for environment
= adapations may be anatomincal, physcological or behaviorial

Q

How does natural selection happen?

A

= selection pressures within environment may change
1: new alleles for a gene are created by random gene mutations
2: if the new allele increases the chances of survival in that environment they they are more likley to survive and reproduce
3:the reprodution [asses onto the adventageous allele to the next generation
4: as a result over many generations the new allele increases in frequency in the population

What is direct selection?

A

= one of the extremes traits has the selective advantage

Q

What is stabalising selection?

A

= modal traits have the selective advanatge
= occurs when there is no change in environment
= modal trait remains the same
= standard debviation as inviduals as individuals with the extremes dereaes
