What are pathogens?

A

= bacteria, viruses, fungi
= microorgansism that cause disease
= if they get past your immune defence system causes symptoms of disease

How are the symptons of diseases caused?

A

= damage to the host’s body cells- toxins
= killing the hosts cells- virus bursring out of cells

When the pathogen has gotten into the blood or tissue fluid what happens?

A

white blood cells are stimultaed to:
1= engulf + digest pathogen- phagocytosis
2= produce antibodies- from B cells (specific response)
3= produce antitoxins- antibodies also b cells
