What are eliza tests based on?

A

= complementary and specific binding of an antigen to the antigen binding receptor of the antibodies
= ANTIGEN-ANTIBODY complex

= ability to produce monoclonal antibodies

How does the eliza test work? (1)

A

= antigens are bounded to a test plate
= serum (blood, plasma) is added containing many antibodies
= wash off the excess antibodies

= second enzyme linked antibodies are added
= binds to the primary antibody
= rinsed to remove unbound antibodies
