What is the gastrointestinal tract?
Forms a continuous tube
What is the pass way of the lumen?
Oral cavity -> pharynx -> esophagus -> stomach -> small intestine -> large intestine -> anus

Inner opening; food broken down into smaller components to be absorbed

Double layer of peritoneum

Support, suspends, stabilizes intraperitoneal
What is greater omentum?
Covers most abdominal organs and contains large amounts of adipose tissue (fats)
What is falciform ligament?
Flat, thin crescent-shaped fold that attaches liver to internal surface of anterior abdominal wall
What is mesentery proper?
Small intestine from posterior abdominal wall
What is mesocolon?
Large intestine to posterior abdominal wall
What is the oral cavity?
Mouth
What are the two distinct regions of oral cavity?
Vestibule and oral cavity proper
What is vestibule?
Space between gum, lips, cheeks
What is oral cavity proper?
Central to the teeth and leads to oropharynx
