- dull to percussion (no air)

- trachea towards side of lesion

Simple Pneumothorax
A
AKA rupture of bleb or cyst

- hyper-resonant (extra air)
- dec fremitus
- trachea does not deviate

Tension Pneumothorax
A
Air into pleural space that cannot get out
- dec breath sounds
- hyper-resonant (extra air)
- dec fremitus
- trachea away from lesion

Consolidation
A
Pneumonia or pulmonary edema
- bronchial breath sounds, late inspiratory crackles, egophony, bronchophony, whispered pectoriloquy
- dull to percussion
- inc fremitus
- no tracheal deviation
