- injury to pelvic floor/diaphragm (MC)
- transverse cervical ligament
- uterosacral ligament
- unrepaired perineal tears
- injury to levator muscles
- weakening of floor

how to assess patients with uterine prolapse?
A
lithotomy and standing position, both in relaxation and maximal straining

what is a stage 1 prolapse?
A
- partial prolapse of uterus into vagina
- 1 cm above hymen

what is a stage 2 prolapse?
A
- corpus descend to introitus with cervix slightly beyond
- leading edge is less than or equal to 1 cm above or below hyment

what is a stage 3 prolapse?
A
entire cervix and uterus is beyond introitus

A
