What is another term for medial epicondylitis
A
Golfers elbow
*pain and tenderness medially at flexor tendon attachment

What is the presentation of golfers elbow?
A
- Activities that involve repetitive wrist flexion
- Golf swing, baseball pitching, lifting with palm up
- May have associated numbness and tingling in ulnar distribution
*positive Tinel’s over cubital tunnel

What will be found on the PE?
A
- Tender at and distal to the medial epicondyle
- Pain with testing of wrist flexors (arm in pronation and flex wrist against resistance)
- Pain with limiting with palm up

What are the tests for golfers elbow?
A
- Radiographs
- MRI

Q
What is the treatment for golfers and tennis elbow?
A
- Lifestyle modifications #1
- Chopat strap (goes around the proximal elbow, put it over the tendon. Will take pressure off of the attachment spot)
- NSAIDs
- Heat/ice
- PT
*stretching/strengthening - Corticosteroid injection (2-3 total)
*can cause tendon rupture, fatty atrophy - Surgical debridement
*if conservative treatment fails
