- Benign
- chronic & progressive dermatologic condition characterized by marked
*inflammation
*epithelial thinning
*distinctive dermal changes accompanied by symptoms of pruritus and pain

what are symptoms of lichens sclerosus?
A
- chronic vulvar itching (common)
- vulva is: thin
- whitish epithelial areas, onion skin, cigarette paper, parchment-like
- bilateral
- obliteration of landmarks

how is lichen sclerosus treated?
A
topical steroids
1. clobetasol propionate
2. mometasone furoate, wean patients down
(no high dose steroids because it can thin tissue)
