Tennis elbow
*tissue degeneration of the extensor tendon attachment at the lateral epicondyle

What is the typically presentation of tennis elbow
A
- 35-50 years old
- Gradual onset
- Repetitive wrist extension activities
- Progressively worsens for most patients without treatments
*can be diagnosed clinically

What will be on the PE?
A
- Tender over and distal to the lateral epicondyle
*elbow at 90 with forearm pronated - Pain and weakness with testing of wrist extensors against resistance
*pain lifting with palm down

What type of diagnostic test are completed?
A
- Radiographs
*Arthritis
*loose bodies
*calcific tendinitis - MRI
*will show the severity and reserve of tearing
