-increase inequality (rich kids will go to the better schools)

-services that were once owned and provided by the state are transferred to private companies e.g prisons , railway
what is endogenous privatisation?
privatisation w the ED system where school, colleges and unis begin to operate more like a priv business.
examples of endogenous privatisation?
e.g ofsted and league tables
-same as marketisation
-schools free from local authority control like free schools, academies
-competition between schools
-performance related pay for teachers
- formula funding = schools given more money the more pupils they attract

-privitisation from outside school system - opening up state ED to private profit making business

-private companies for examination e.g AQA
advantages of privatisation?
-new right say privatisation is good as services from gov are not efficient and wasteful
-private companies raise standards
-and more cost effective
disadvantages of privatisation?
-inequalities as u need the money to be able to access this advancement
-marxists say it’s example of capitalisation seeping into all places of life and public services
