indications: known or suspected acute coronary syndrome, TIA/CVA post negative CT of head, prevention of clots in Afib, prolonged immobilization, Kawasaki’s disease
contraindications: (absolute) active bleed (relative) pediatric viral syndrome and chicken pox due to Reye’s syndrome
side effects: gastric irritation/bleeding, increased bleeding, tinnitus in OD situations, Reye’s syndrome (liver failure and brain damage following infection where aspirin was used to treat symptoms)
