Intraductal Papilloma
Development of a papillary lesion in the duct which can bleed leading to bloody discharge - often in premenopausal women
What is the key difference between intraductal papilloma and carcinoma?
Carcinoma will lack myoepithelial cells and be more likely in post menopausal women
Fibroadenoma
Tumor of fibrous tissues and glands that is a well circumscribed mobile marble like mass
What is the most common benign tumor of the breast?
Fibroadenoma
What can cause fibroadenoma to grow?
Estrogen
Is there an increased risk for cancer with fibroadenoma?
No
Phyllodes Tumor
Fibroadenoma like tumor with an overgrowth of the fibrous component with leaf like projections
What patients are phyllodes tumors most often seen in?
Postmenopausal
Can phyllodes tumors be malignant?
Yes
