Q

What are some symptoms of sickle cell anemia

A

D Delayed growth due to malnutrition
E Episodes of pain in the abdomen, chest, joints, and
bones (Acute Chest syndrome for example)
F Frequent infections- damage to spleen leaves you
more susceptible
S Swelling of the hand and feet because of vascular
occlusion
A Anemia- less oxygen supply because the sickle cells
break quickly
V Vision problems leading to blindness
