Who coordinates the grievance process, maintains, and controls access to the grievance records?
The same person will also complete and provide an annual analysis to who?
- The grievance process is coordinated by the Chief of Human Resources, who shall maintain
and control access to the grievance records. The Chief of Human Resources shall complete and provide the Sheriff with an annual analysis. A copy of the annual grievance analysis will also be forwarded to the Accreditation Unit. [CALEA 22.4.2, 22.4.3]
F. Rules of Grievance Processing
1. A grievance must be brought forward as soon as the grievance became known to exist. In the event a grievance arises, the employee must submit the grievance to their immediate supervisor as outlined in the employees’ contract grievance procedures. Upon the supervisor receiving the grievance, he must do what?
NOTE: This also includes written grievances and verbal grievances.
F. Rules of Grievance Processing
1. A grievance must be brought forward as soon as the grievance became known to exist. Any supervisor who receives a grievance must notify their chain of command and forward a copy of the grievance to HumanResources@jaxsheriff.org along with a copy of the Grievance Routing Sheet. If the grievance was not submitted to the supervisor in writing, the supervisor must write a summary of the grievance to send with the copy of the Grievance Routing Sheet.

b. Once a disposition has been reached, the appropriate bargaining unit will maintain the
original copy of the grievances that are submitted for employees covered under appropriate employee contracts. A copy of ALL grievance reports will be forwarded to the Internal Affairs Unit and Chief of Human Resources once the final disposition has been reached.
