C. All requests for a Traffic Homicide detective are to be made by a patrol supervisor through the Investigative PECO.

c. Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) vehicle crashes, which have resulted in death, life threatening injury, or injury requiring transportation by an emergency medical unit to a medical facility from the scene.

D. A Traffic Homicide detective will be called out 24 hours a day when:

c.(1). When called out for a JSO related crash, who will make the determination of staffing needs?
c.(2). The involved officer(s) may request what?
(1) During a JSO vehicle crash callout, it shall be the responsibility of the Commanding Officer and Supervisor of Traffic Homicide Unit to determine the Investigations Division staffing needs and to coordinate the activities of responding detectives.
(2) The involved officer(s) may request legal counsel or Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) representation prior to making any statement. Notwithstanding the request for counsel, the involved officer is required to provide information specifically, narrowly, and directly related to their official duties. This may include identifying suspects, witnesses, evidence, or other officers involved.

E. The following administrative guidelines related to duty status will apply to officer-involved traffic crashes in which death or life-threatening injuries occur:
1. Any officer whose actions result in a death or serious bodily harm shall be removed from his line of duty assignment;
a. The officer shall be placed on ADL by who’s authority?
b. Once the authority is given who will go into EIS to complete the status change?
a. The officer shall be placed on Administrative Leave (ADL) by the authority of the Assistant Chief of Property Crimes & Investigative Support or higher authority.
b. The employee’s Employee Information System (EIS) supervisor or someone higher in the employee’s chain of command will change the attendance via the EIS Today’s Schedule screen to an ADL status daily for the duration to be determined by the appropriate director or higher authority.
