2. When investigating homicide cases, the primary patrol officer shall complete the Incident Report after consulting with the _____________________ regarding the content of the Incident Report. In cases where death has apparently been caused by fire or a hazardous material incident, officers shall not enter the scene until such time as the ______________________ declares the scene to be safe. 1. An Incident Report is not required for cases in which the deceased person is in the Hospice Program, and that person has not been declared indigent.
2. In addition to the referenced above, the following shall also apply:
a. Persons under the care of Hospice Program who have been declared terminally ill; and

a. Death notification requests made from an out-of-county jurisdiction shall be handled by an on-duty patrol supervisor and one additional officer. The on-duty patrol supervisor and officer shall notify the next of kin in person and relay the information back to the requesting jurisdiction.
