L. Canine and Equestrian Facility
1. The Commanding Officer of the Canine Unit has overall responsibility for the Canine facility.
However, the officers assigned to the unit have primary responsibility for the security of the
site. The Canine Facility, located at 1076 Duval St, is not open to the public and shall be secured 24 hours a day. Visitors granted access to the facility will be escorted at all times by JSO personnel.
Who has total authority and responsibility for security within the court house
- The Duval County Courthouse (DCC) is located at 501 West Adams Street. The J – Courts are
located at 500 East Adams Street and are connected to the PDF. The Chief Judge of the
Fourth Judicial Circuit has total authority and responsibility for security within and for the
DCC and the Duval County judicial system as addressed in Orders 703 (Courthouse Holding
Area Security Operations) and 704 (Courthouse Courtroom Security Operations). The JSO Courthouse Security Manager serves as the liaison between the Chief Judge and JSO, and facilitates the overall security for the DCC Complex and J - Courts.
