A
  • standing/sitting for prolonged periods
  • obesity
  • Hypercoagulable states/vein trauma/thrombus formation
  • Incompetent valves (varicose veins)

A
  • venous stasis ulcers
  • Swelling
  • cellulitis (redness, swelling, pain)

What are the clinical manifestations of CVI/PVD? (3, 7)

A
  1. Edema
  2. Stasis dermatitis: reddish-brown discoloration extending up to calf
  3. Stasis ulcers
    - from edema/minor injury
    - often above medial malleolus
    - irregular borders
    - difficult to heal
