A
- Inhibits the effects of aldosterone
- by competitively binding to the aldosterone receptor
- this increases sodium and water excretion and potassium retention

- Liver cirrhosis
- ascites and oedema - chronic heart failure
- primary hyperaldosteronism

- severe renal impairment - Adrenal gland
- Addison’s disease - Pregnancy or breast feeding

- hyperkaelemia
