What is Steven’s Johnson syndrome? (2)
A
- a life-threatening skin condition, in which cell death causes the epidermis to separate from the dermis.
- thought to be a hypersensitivity complex that affects the skin and the mucous membranes.

What is erythema multiforme? (2)
A
- a hypersensitivity reaction usually triggered by infections, most commonly herpes simplex virus (HSV).
- It presents with a skin eruption characterised by a typical target lesion.
