What is the responsibility of the defib operator in this SOG?
It is the responsibility of the defib operator to ensure the MAR form is completed fully for all incidents which they connected the defib to a patient or symptom assist treatment was provided.
What is the guideline for Capts. filling out the MAR form?(list 8)
1-Upon arrival at a tiered medical response emergency, where the ambulance is not on the scene, the Captain shall ensure that every attempt is made to complete the MAR with as much detail as is immediately available.
2-When filling out the MAR, print only
3-Where the ambulance is first on the scene, a MAR is not required
4-Update Fire Control upon the arrival of “ambulance at patient” and record time stamp provided by Fire Control on the MAR
5-When possible, note the patient’s chief complaint/condition
6-Retain the yellow copy and give the white copy to the attending paramedic
7-Upon returning to station when defib was used
a) Ensure the yellow copy of the MAR is completed by the defib operator
b) Ensure the completed MAR is placed into a sealed “confidential” envelope and left at the station for the Medical Training Officer
8-Upon returning to station from non-defib incidents where a MAR was completed, it shall be placed into a sealed “confidential” envelope and forwarded to the Division of Training.
