Coordinating a Fire Station tour

1-All inquires for station tours must be directed to the FLSE division.
2-Bookings will only be accepted with 2 or more weeks notice
3-Confirmation of tour details
-Number of people to attend(max 25)
-Fire Station location
-Time and Date
-Type of group and age of participants
-min age is 3yrs old
4-The FLSE division will confirm with the fire station all details of the tour including recommending the specific tour model to use as set out in the “Station Tour Firefighters Info Guide”
5-Station tours shall be booked by FLSE utilizing the “firefighter request Microsoft Outlook” calendar. A meeting request shall be sent to the appropriate shift calendar and personnel who normally work out of the station on that particular shift.

Tour length may vary based on age group/needs 45 mins to 1 hr.

Fire Station Responsibilities

1-Personnel are to check their Outlook calendars for tour details
2-Use the tour outline as set out in the “station tour firefighters Info Guide” as supplied by the FLSE Division
3-Tours may include the following
-Station tour
-Discussion of age appropriate info on fire prevention, fire safety, smoke detector use and fire escape plans
-Apparatus Tour
4-Inform the group of their responsibilities in the event that there is a call during a tour
-The tour is immediately terminated
-Report to the front of the station, remaining calm and clear of the apparatus and equipment
-The group is asked to leave the station prior to the apparatus leaving the station
-Ensure the station is secured upon leaving
-The tour may be rebooked at a later date through the normal booking procedure
5-Should personnel require any educational material or specialized equipment for a tour, a request must be made in advance to the FLSE division.
