Emergency Apparatus, Equipment and Station Inspections - Driver Duties
A
- Shall be familiar with all aspects of the apparatus they have been assigned to drive. This included the safe operation and reporting of defect or missing equipment.
- as early as possible, ensure the Daily Inspection report - Part A is completed. The Apparatus Inspection Schedule and Inspection Guide shall be utilized in order to assist with the completion of the Daily Inspection Report
- On Sundays ensure the Weekly Apparatus Inspection Report is completed.
- 1st of the month ensure the Monthly Apparatus Inspection Report is completed and forwarded to the apparatus Captain
- Replacement drivers can reinspect or accept the previous drivers inspection, the new driver shall sign the inspection sheet and assume full responsibility of the vehicle
- ensure the inspection of emerg. lights on the apparatus is done inside the station. (Not necessary to have vehicle running but station power should be utilized)
- if a major or minor defect is detected while driving they shall notify the Captain immediately
- ensure at the end of the calendar year, all Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Apparatus Inspection Reports are forwarded the Div. A&M
- the apparatus fuel tanks are maintained at a minimum 3/4 full.
