Lesson 17 - The Past Tense Flashcards
What can be noted about the prefix a- in verbs ending in -a in the past tense?
The a- (as in apaci, apaciṃsu etc.) is not a
negative prefix. It is the augment (optional) denoting the past tense.
Verbs whose bases end in -nā are also conjugated in the past tense as verbs ending in -a.
