Buddho vihārasmiṃ sannipatantānaṃ manussānaṃ
dhammaṃ deseti.
Buddha preaches the doctrine to people who assemble in the
monastery.
Buddhassa pūjetuṃ cintento upāsako pupphāni ocināti.
With the intention of offering to the Buddha the lay devotee
collects/picks flowers.
Te patte udakena pūrentā gītaṃ gāyanti.
Filling the bowls with water they sing a song.
Tumhe araññe vasante mige pīḷetvā asappurisā hotha.
Oppressing the deer living in the forest you (pl.) become evil
men.
Mayaṃ āpaṇaṃ gantvā vāṇijehi saddhiṃ kathetvā dhaññaṃ
vikkiṇāma.
Having gone to the market and discussed with the merchants
we sell corn.
Tvaṃ uḍḍentaṃ sukaṃ disvā gaṇhituṃ icchasi.
Seeing a parrot flying you wish to catch (it).
Pabbatamhā udentaṃ candaṃ passituṃ kumāro gharamhā
dhāvati.
The boy runs out of the house to see the moon rising from
the mountain.
Ahaṃ kassakehi saha khettasmiṃ rukkhe ropemi.
I plant trees in the field together with the farmers.
Mayaṃ amaccehi saha mantentā pāsādasmiṃ āsanesu nisīdāma.
We sit on chairs in the palace discussing with the ministers.
Tumhe Tathāgatassa sāvake nimantetvā dānaṃ detha.
Having invited the disciples of the Buddha, you give alms.
Upāsakā vihāraṃ gantvā dīpe jāletvā dhammaṃ sotuṃ
nisīdanti.
Having gone to the monastery and lit lamps, lay devotees sit down to listen to the doctrine.
Luddako sīsaṃ (head) dussena chādetvā nisīditvā sakuṇe
maretuṃ ussahati.
Covering the head with a cloth the hunter sits down and tries to kill birds.
So vane āhiṇḍante goṇe gāmaṃ ānetvā vāṇijānaṃ vikkiṇāti.
Having brought cattle roaming in the forest to the village, he sells (them) to merchants.
Tvaṃ āpaṇehi bhaṇḍāni kiṇitvā sakaṭena ānetvā gehe ṭhapesi.
Having bought goods from shops and brought (them) by cart you keep (them) at home.
Tumhe kakacehi rukkhe chinditvā pabbatamhā pātetha.
You cut trees with saws and fell (them) from the mountain.
