Thyroid hormone replacement can be achieved by the administration of:
- Desiccated whole gland animal thyroid
- Synthetic T3
- Synthetic T4
-After initiation or change in therapy, TSH rechecked in 6 weeks

A
- With incorrect dose, same symptoms as hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism
- Can affect blood sugar levels
- Interact with numerous other medications
