Movable Incore Detector System Flashcards
Purpose of incore detectors (8)
- Confirm proper fuel loading
- Calc hot channel factors
- Compute fuel burnup profiles
- Calibrate power range detectors
- Monitor QPTR
- Verify control rod misalignment
- Compute extent of fuel damage
- Calibrate PDMS
Purpose of safety limit switch
Prevents detector from entering the drive unit
Purpose of the withdrawn limit switch
- Stops auto rod withdrawal
- Disallows 5 and 10 path movement
Slow speed is _____ft/min and fast is _____ft/min.
12; 72
If a RCS leak occurs in the seal table room, ______ will alarm. There is also an audible alarm w/ light on the front of the _____ to warn of a leak.
_AR03J will alarm
MID panel
TLCO 3.3.a The Movable Incore Detection System shall be OPERABLE with:
- ≥ 75% of the detector thimbles,
- ≥ 2 detector thimbles per core quadrant, and
- Sufficient movable detectors, drive, and readout
equipment to map these thimbles.
————————–NOTES ————————–
Only ≥ 50% of the detector thimbles are required for Power
Distribution Monitoring System (PDMS) calibrations after the
initial PDMS calibration following each refueling.
———————————————————-
The ________ energizes the withdraw position lamp on the panel.
Withdraw limit switch
5 path has 1 inlet and 5 outlet paths which are:
Normal Calibrate Emergency Common Storage
Function of the Insert button?
Inserts MIDS from withdrawn to bottom of core @72 ft/min
Function of the scan button?
Moves MIDS from bottom to top of core @12 ft/min
Function of the record button?
Moves MIDS from top to bottom of the core @ 12 ft/min
Function of the withdraw button?
Withdraws MIDs from bottom of the core to withdrawn @72 ft/min
When the Movable Incore Detection System is used for:
4 reasons
- Recalibration of the Excore Neutron Flux Detection
System, - Calibration of the PDMS,
- Monitoring normalized symmetric power distribution, or
- Measurement of N F∆H ,FC
Q(Z), and FW
Q(Z).
Order of components starting at drive units
Drive unit to the limit switches to the 5 path to the 10 path to the guillotine valves to the seal table to the bottom of the core through the thimble tubes for flux mapping.
