the neck
What hormones does the thyroid gland produce?
T3, T4 and calcitonin
What are T3 and T4 responsible for regulating?
metabolism

What is on the border of these follicles?
A layer of simple cuboidal cells
When T3 and T4 are produced at this level, are they considered active or inactive hormones?
inactive
What needs to happen in order to activate the hormones and have them perform their function?
They need to be released in the body.
Where are Parafollicular cells located?
parafollicular cells are located between the follicles in the thyroid
What do Parafollicular cells produce?
the hormone calcitonin.
What do Parafollicular cells look like?
groupings of purple looking cells.
