Medical- Pandemic PPE may included

Medical - prior to emergency medical response we must (2)
- practise proper hand washing, soap and water or hand sanitizer
- ensure that a contaminated waste receptacle is available in the fire station

medical- for all medical response personnel shall have available (6)
- nitirile gloves
- n95 masks
- eye protection
- non-permeable medical gowns
- tyvek suits
- face shields

medical- personnel with broken skin on the face should
wear a face shield in lieu of safety glasses or goggles

medical- may bring
air monitoring equipment if available

medical- non-essenitial personnel should not be in the area where patient care is provided including during transport, prior to patient contact ensure
the appropriate level of PPE is donned

medical- Notify additional arriving resources such as paramedics and police of
potential hazards allowing them to don appropriate PPE
-SOG 8-02 Medical Response-
medical- during patient care personnel shall continually
evaluate their level of PPE and upgrade if they feel it is warranted or as directed to by the Captain

Medical- personnel providing patient care in an ambulance shall
ensure appropriate PPE is worn

Medical- prior to boarding the apparatus
the driver shall provide personnel with alcohol-based hand sanitizer for immediate decon. Oxivir TB, Aegis wipes or Accel Five wipes shall be used for cleaning and decon of non disposable medical

medical- prior to leaving the scene
the driver shall ensure all disposable medical equipment is placed into a double bagged yellow biohazard bags before being disposed of in proper waste receptacles

medical- should more through decontamination be required
refer to SOG 26-04. in extreme cases the Medical Training officer of alternate shall be contacted

medical- any non-disposable PPE contaminated with Bio-Hazard material must be cared for as per
sog 26-04 specialized cleaning

medical- if required any personnel contaminated on scene shall follow
SOG 26-01 routine cleaning and 26-07 personal post exposure Decon, prior to boarding the apparatus
-SOG 8-02 Medical Response-
medical - waste disposal bags containing contaminated materials must be transported
back to station in an apparatus compartment rather that the cab
-SOG 8-02 Medical Response-
medical- upon returning to station, dispose of waste disposal bags in the waste receptacle provided, if amount or size of waste does not allow for disposal
place beside the receptacle and notify the AandM to arrage pick up by waste disposal company

medical- upon return to station
wash hands for a minimum of 20 seconds using soap and warm water before entering living quarters and before consuming food, rings must be disifected as part of the equipment
-SOG 8-02 Medical Response-
medical- personnel that have experienced a significant exposure shall refer
to SOG 8-08 notification of designated officer

medical pandemic- fire personnel shall use Pandemic PPE
based on current requirment

medical pandemic- during pandemic patient assessment/care shall
be performed from a distance of 2 meters whenever possible

Medical Pandemic- if paramedics are on-scene and ready to make patient contact prior to fire
the paramedics will proceed to the patient as per practise. Fire personnel to stage on-scene and request fire control to confirm with CACC if assistance is required. Only personnel required by PAramedics shall assist in patient care

Medical Pandemic- When an appartus arrives prior to paramedics, Patient contact shall be limited to
One fire firefighter unless additional assistance is required determined at the discretion of the captain

at the entrance with appropriate Pandemic PPE and remain in a radio contact and/or line of sight with the entry person
