- Determine incident location by speaking to on duty building employees

High rise search and rescue. The IC shall ensure search and rescue is carried out with areas posing the greatest threat to life being priority. Other areas to be searched in the following priority may include (8)
- suite of origin
- fire floor hallway
- adjacent suites
- the suite immediately above
- remainder of suites on fire floor
- all stairwells in entirety
- the floor immediately below the fire floor
- other affected areas

At least 2 floors below the incident.
Note ground or second floor incidents may necessitate the establishment of external forward staging

- ensure smoke is controlled
- ensure that evacuation is controlled and evacuation routes are separate from emergency and smoke control

High rise, Additional Alarm response shall be initiated at the discretion of IC. Consideration should be given to additional alarms when it is obvious that the fire is progressing to the point where it has potential too (3)
