on the scheduled week for the annual inspection, staff will complete the following (6)

• Bunker suits shall be prepared for Specialized cleaning at then end of the shift on Friday morning at 7:00
• any dry debris should be brushed off the gear. other debris may be gently rinsed with water
• the employee shall ensure
  - all pockets are emptied and any attached accessories are removed
  - suspenders and the DRD are removed from ensemble set
  - the ensemble pants and coat are separated from the liners
• a laundry tag and special cleaning and repair work order form shall be placed in the bag specifying that the gear is being sent for annual inspection
• if any defectives are found with the Bunker suit the employee shall fill out a special cleaning and repair work order form to submit along with the gear
• Bunker gear shall be placed in a clear plastic bag with the employees proper name clearly written on the bag and the special cleaning and repair work order form clearly visible

Contaminated Bunker gear

• if the Bunker gear ensemble or element are contaminated with hazardous or toxin materials from the employees shift the employee shall follow standard operating guideline 26.04- PPE- Specialized cleaning to prepare the ensemble for cleaning
• the ensemble or ensemble element shall be sent along with the scheduled articles for Specialized cleaning

• the supply and equipment officer will contact the independent service provider (ISP) designated to perform advanced inspections
• the ISP will pick up the contaminated gear for cleaning

• when the Specialized cleaning is completed the vendor will return the garment to the supply and equipment officer
• the supply and equipment officer will review the garments to ensure the ensemble is improper order
• once the articles are verified, the annual inspection dates will be entered into the PPE electronic database for each ensemble
• the supply and equipment officer will coordinate the return of the ensembles to the employees

• if an employee knows they will not be working on the Sunday night, he or she will prepare their gear for annual inspection on their last known shift before his or her vacation or lieu
• if an employee is I’ll and is unable to prepare his or her gear for annual inspection, the on duty Captian will make arrangements for the employees gear to prepared for annual inspection
