purpose
to provide staff a method of conveying information about a particular incident by way of abbreviated code where the information may have an impact on suppression staff or civilians at an incident

Calls that require the use of extra caution

CODE BLUE
calls reported as suicide or attempt suicide

calls involving communicable diseases

CODE red- From crews on scene
Require police urgently on scene

CODE RED- from communication to crews

When code red is from crews on scene, communications will contact
PRP right awway and advise our crews are in danger and require police assistance. no further details from crews on scene is required

Code RED will be announced from communications, Whenever communications have information about
Shootings, guns, knives, other weapons, large fights, etc. Fire crews once onscene will remain in their truck until police arrive

Code 5 will be used when
the patient has obvious signs of death and no patient care will be rendered

Staff will not elaborate on these codes over the radio, if doing so jeopardizes the safety of the fire staff or assisting agencies When crews enroute
further details can be viewed by the crews on their MDUs, Should crews already be onscene, further updates will be sent to their pagers as the Captains and Drivers will have pagers on them at all times
