So as not remove any equipment staged for use of the RIT

RIT must be cognizant the opening, windows or roofs may adversely effect ventilation operations. The RIT will
Consult IC and any crews performing ventilation operations prior to making rescue openings

Calling additional RITs to the scene

Level 2 rit may include the following equipment but is not limited to (6)

RIT shall be notified immediately

When the IC gives the Deployment order to the RIT

Commence level 3

For level 3 RIT IC should choose one of the following options (2)
Option 1
- all firefighting crews not immediately involved with RIT are told to following emergency traffic only protocols
Option 2
- request another channel from IC
- lost trapped, RIT and rescue crew remain on original channel
-other firefighting crews shall be reassigned to new channel
-fire control or accountability officer may perform a brief radio check of crews assigned new channel

Highly recommended that once RIT operations commence
Fire operations are assigned to the 2nd dc or another officer assigned to fire operations
-SOG 3-12 Rapid Intervention Team-
Rit may do an audible or a physical search of an area the completion of an audible search will be communicated to IC stating
That there is an “audible all clear”

RIT will is the following benchmarks (4)
- firefighter located
- firefighter converted and on air
- firefighter removal underway and the route
- firefighter removed from structure

During RIT operations it is recommended IC or other designated personnel attempt
Maintain communication with the firefighter or crew experiencing the emergency

Once RIT deployed. The IC will assign to point of entry
