After updates supplied by fire control the first responding apparatus officer and or dc may request changes that are required ie (6)
Additional apparatus, specialized teams, ambulance, police, utilities, down grading apparatus. Etc

Non fire. The first arriving apparatus officer shall relay to fire control (4)
- That they have arrived on scene
- a short report on the situation as they see it before leaving apparatus
- a request for an further assistance or services that may be required
- that they are establishing command

Note the designation of command shall be a name unique to one of the following (3)
- street name
- businesses name
- apparatus designation

Update communications
- nature of problem
- other required agency
- first arriving apparatus driver updates arrival of other agencies
- officers provide situational updates to IC
- during special operations sector officer in contact with IC
- leaving scene
- when back in station and whether or not the apparatus is ready for service

Apparatus shall radio
On appropriate channel as designated by FC as per SOG 02-05
The first arriving officer at all fire incidents shall relay information as outlined in SOG 03-24

Fire conditions
During initial report of fire/smoke officer should describe what they see on scene, they may choose to use one of these following terms thereby implying actions (4 and 4 implications)
- nothing showing (investigating)
- smoke showing/visible (offensive operations)
- working fire/flames visible (offensive operations)
- fully involved (defensive operations)

Fire conditions
As additional apparatus arrive
They shall advise the IC they are on scene. The IC shall provide details regarding positioning and actions to be taken

Shall provide regular progress reports to IC
Shall notify IC when benchmarks are reached

Other agencies and resources shall be requested through F control such as (13)
Ambulance, police, hydro, gas, tow, by-law, transit, building owners, media relations officer, senior officers, rehab, mutual aid, local councillors

The IC shall relay the completion of major benchmarks to fire control ie (5)
Extinguishing agent applied, all clear, fire under control, loss stopped
