Q

SOG 17-02 Positive Pressure Ventilation

9 steps of PPV

A
  1. Determining Ventilation profile
  2. ensure the fire is under control
  3. fan operations should be coordinated
  4. fan placement should allow for complete airflow coverage of inlet
  5. Exhausted shall be created as necessary to ensure controlled smoke removal
  6. air flow from PPV must be controlled
  7. a systemic approach focusing on the positive pressure created by the fan shall be used by personnel when clearing rooms/areas of smoke
  8. An ongoing hazard risk assessment shall be conducted
  9. consider discontinuing the use of the fan when checking for extension
