What are the causes of concomitant and paralytic squint?
A
- Concomitant - imbalance in extraocular muscles (convergent more common)
- Paralytic - paralysis of extraocular muscles

How is a squint diagnosed?
A
- Cover test - ‘bad eye’ moves when the good eye is covered. When the bad eye is covered, the good eye remains still.
- Refer all children with a squint to ophthalmology.

What is the management for a squint?
A
- Patch the good eye to encourage use of the squinting eye.
2. Consider surgery if refractive to conservative treatment.
