- Agenesis or dysgenesis of the thyroid gland (75%)

A
- Most at asymptomatic stage via newborn screening (detect TSH)
- Does not detect central congenital hypothyroidism (low/unpredictable TSH)

Good/quiet as they sleep for long periods, decreased activity, poor feeding, constipation, hypotonia, large posterior fontanelle, prolonged jaundice.
